“It all started with a conversation.” That’s how Mark Evans, Director of ME Accountants, described his first interaction with Ed from Tipu.
Based in Pirongia, ME Accountants is a leading firm with more than 100 years of collective experience. Since meeting with Ed, the team has gone from strength to strength with annual profits up by 15-20%. How did they get there? Read on to find out.

Just 12 months ago, the team at ME Accountants was “flat out” and overwhelmed with their workload. With a desire to grow the firm and free up more time for his family, Mark Evans got in touch with Tipu. We worked with Mark and the team to identify areas of improvement and inspire them to move forward. With the right foundations in place, the team could then focus on developing their outsourcing system.
When Mark and the team signed up for our Effective Resourcing program, we worked with them to set up the systems and processes they needed to succeed. We also introduced Mark to the importance of role profiles.
“Having the role profiles helped me to identify the best team member for the position. The team members in those roles now know exactly what their role is and what is expected. They are all working together and in the same direction,” Mark explained.
What took the team 13 and a half months to complete in the last financial year, has only taken 11 months this year.
“We’re in a much better place than we were 12 months ago…I had some goals and all of those goals were exceeded. Revenue has increased, profitability has increased, and productivity has increased.”
This increased efficiency has “opened up more opportunities” for growth. As a result, the team has witnessed a 15-20% increase in profits. Since working with Tipu, Mark said that the team has become more proactive and has a clearer vision of where the practice is heading.
“Helen was a confident administrator. Now that we have processes and systems in place, she is now the go-to person in the firm, dealing with the remote team and our local team.”
Mark also said that the team are more motivated in their roles and feel well-equipped to face challenges as they rise.
